5:48p i think i'm officially like a 75 year old lady
So there are all these kids suddenly in my neighborhood. I dont know whats up with that! They are all over the place, playing that dumb game where one of them ties a rope around themselves and then they tie the other to some kids bike and hop on a skateboard and the kid on the bike drags them around and you watch from your window and wonder when the kid is going to get seriously injured and where on earth are their mothers?
Anyway, I digress. thats not why i think i'm seriously an old lady.
They leave their shit all over the place. No, really! They leave their skateboards overnight on the curb by the end of the block. They leave their bikes in front of peoples houses, or even better, IN THE STREET. for like DAYS. Once my neighbor actually walked the bike back and gave it to the little girl who owns it and yelled at her for leaving it in the middle of the street and she just looked at him blankly. And i was like, YOU GO NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR! whoo hooo! I however, look at the random shit they leave around and tell myself that one day, I'm going to just take it all and lock it in my shed and never give it back and THEN maybe they'll stop leaving their expensive bikes and skateboards laying around in the street overnight.
But of course if i really did that i'd probably get caught and since i'm NOT an old lady yet, i'd probably get myself into some trouble for that.
Damn kids, keep yer bike off my lawn! Well, okay, keep it out of the street!!

8:13p :)
ahh christmastime!! The tree is decorated and lit, the weather outside is frightful (Okay so its a rainy night, close enough to snow i guess), and I've been cozy on the couch eating delicious sushi and watching the Rockefeller tree lighting. Which is two hours long for some reason and that is a tad annoying as now i can't watch Rudolph live! I do of course own it on DVD but i love watching it on tv for some weird reason. Polar Express is on tomorrow and so i'll of course watch that in between making meat loaf. It ALWAYS makes me cry, but its So damn good!
Life is good lately. I have decided that the super awesome Thanksgiving means that my bad luck is over. Its only good stuff from here out! And if its crappy, i'll freaking MAKE it good, dammit! I wonder how long this optimism will last? :)
Anyway, whats been going on...Only 7 more days of torture with the student teacher. oh my god. I had TWO separate big conversations with her on professionalism and taking initiative and stuff and one of these was just last week. She shaped up for TWO days before falling apart again. Clearly, this profession is not for her. She is so freaking ridiculous. She was late today because someone let the air out of her tires? and then she didnt do any prep work so she was running around cutting paper while the kids waited and filling water and being weird and the kids who are always ANGELS on wed were like, bad!! Ugh, I just want her to go because all of teh management i worked so hard on in the beginning of the year is like gone thanks to her. Jerkface student teacher!!! whateves. Thats why i went to yoga and got sushi, so that i can be happy despite her annoyingness.
This weekend I've got big plans to bake cookies and we're going to put up the lights outside. Mike made some text comment to me earlier about going a bit crazy on lights at target today, so uh, i hope he didnt go TOO crazy. I mean, i LOVE christmas lights, but not like those stupid blow up things and stuff, though I dont think he'd do that, he doesnt usually light them either. but sometimes he just gets excited and forgets that kind of thing. I guess I'll see what he's got after bowling today. ha yeah, he goes bowling on Wednesdays, what? He was on the team in college!!
I'm mainly moved on to cookie mode since its the season for baking. I made a list of like 10 different kinds i want to try this year. I usually give them as gifts so i figure variety is a good thing, right? I'm not sure what i'll start with though. Usually i do chocolate chips first. I have a recipe for raspberry bars that seem promising. Maybe those too. Yay for christmastime!
Anyway just figured i'd post something, I do feel like i neglect good ol' LJ these days, but i guess really, who doesnt? TTFN!

11:15a turkey day!
Hey guys!
Thanksgiving was seriously a ROARING SUCCESS!! I am SO pleased with myself, ha! Everyone came, hung out, spread out in the tiny house and had an awesome time! They LOVED all the food I made, especially the new stuff: cranberry vanilla sorbet (from scratch bitches!), cheesy herb popovers, corn souffle and the biggest winner of all was Ray's Mom's apple pie (thanks for the recipe ray!) Everyone ate til they were going to burst and hung out longer than usual! I am so pleased! hooray! I want to have Thanksgiving every year but i'm not sure that my mom and aunt will give up that easily, they did tell me i've earned a spot in the rotation though :) AND my turkey was friggin AWESOME! 27 pounds brined, smothered in herby butter and browned to perfection, sooo moist! Also i made apple cider gravy and people were so excited by it. YAY!
Today I'm going to lay around and be a vegetable, and later tonight I'm going into the city with Traci to ses GUSTER! whoo hoo! I'm so excited, what a nice weekend!!
